📌 LESSON BASICS

How do I prepare for my first lesson?
Bring a few song ideas that you love singing and feel comfortable with! We’ll start with what you enjoy. You don’t need to have the full song down — even a verse and chorus is great!

Where is the studio located?

Where do I park?
Feel free to park in the front parking lot.

How do I get in for my lesson?
The door stays locked — press the RING doorbell when you arrive. If your lesson is in the late afternoon or evening, please wait in your car and approach the front door closest to your scheduled time — your teacher may be finishing up with another student and will greet you as soon as they’re available.  During office hours, Kelsey may be able to greet you at the door. Otherwise, simply press the RING doorbell when you arrive.

💰 PAYMENT & MEMBERSHIPS

How do payments work?
Invoices are posted on the 1st of each month in Opus1.io and must be paid before the first lesson of the month. Add a payment method to your portal — credit/debit cards incur a 4% processing fee.
✨ Prefer to save on fees? Add a bank account and email support@westrickvocalstudio.com so we can adjust your rate accordingly.

Can I sign up for multiple services?
Absolutely! We can combine two 45-minute lessons into a 90-minute block (e.g., voice + acting).

🎓 Step Up Scholarship Families


We’re happy to support families who use the Step Up for Students scholarship program! While we are not a direct vendor, we can provide teacher credentials and updated invoices upon request to help with your reimbursement process. 🗓️ SCHEDULING, CANCELLATIONS & MAKE-UP LESSONS

What’s your cancellation policy?
You must cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson to receive a make-up credit.
⚠️ Missed or late-cancelled lessons (less than 24 hours) are forfeited. No refunds.

How many lesson credits can I have at once?
You may have up to two active credits at a time.

How long do I have to book my make-up?
You have 14 days from the cancellation date to schedule your make-up lesson (not complete it — just get it on the calendar).

Can I reschedule a make-up lesson?
No. Once scheduled, a make-up lesson cannot be rescheduled. If you cancel or miss it, the credit is forfeited.

When should I cancel a lesson?
Only cancel within the same calendar month of your invoice to ensure the system accepts the credit.
💡Tip: Check your portal after the 1st of each month to confirm your upcoming lesson dates.

Is my make-up lesson guaranteed if I book far in advance?
Make-up lessons booked a month out are subject to change. Teachers can request adjustments at least two weeks in advance.

🔁 RECURRING LESSONS & SCHEDULE CHANGES

How can I stay up-to-date with my schedule?
We recommend checking your Opus1.io schedule weekly. Our instructors are working performers, and schedule changes may occur.

If there’s an adjustment, you’ll get both email and SMS notifications. Please read them!

Can I reply to text messages from WVS?
Yes! You can respond directly to SMS notifications — your message will reach us.

What happens if my teacher is out?
We may assign a substitute teacher or make a schedule change. We aim to notify you at least one week in advance.

How do I make changes to my enrollment?
To discontinue lessons or change your recurring lesson frequency (e.g., switching from weekly to biweekly), written notice must be provided before the 25th of the month to take effect for the following month.

All lessons are invoiced monthly on the 1st, based on your current lesson schedule. Changes submitted after the 25th will take effect in the next billing cycle. No mid-month changes or prorated refunds will be made.

Example: If you request to change from weekly to biweekly lessons on May 20, the change will begin in June. If you submit your request on May 26, the change will not be reflected until July.

We do not offer refunds for unused or canceled lessons, so please plan accordingly.
